Ok i have an issue with my 1987 Olds Cutlass where when I signal to make a left turn the blinker goes on but when the wheel comes back around it doesn't shut off. Now from what I hear this is a common problem. Do i just need a new spring or do I need to replace the whole turn signal switch?

Usually it's just the return spring that breaks. Dorman Products sells new ones. You need to remove the steering wheel and lock plate to get to the turn signal switch. Once you can see the switch, it will be obvious if a spring is broken.

Yep, mine was doing that. I opened it up and one of the springs was missing. Replaced it and now it works fine.

Well, I don't kow if regular parts stores carry those springs. If the turn signal switch comes with everything I may just order the whole set up since the original turn singal switch is 23 years old
