Lemans and Malibu Sail Panels Interchange?

I'm working on removing the Landau top from my Lemans. I need to get different upper sail panels to fit with the larger window. Are the upper panels in a hardtop Lemans and a hardtop Malibu the same, or, am I stuck finding them from a Lemans only? They sure look like they would be the same from the exterior window shape.

I know the Lemans has a slope in the lower portion of the window that the Malibu doesn't. Im not sure is that changed the sail panels in the interior....

I believe the upper piece is the same,they do share the same roof & rear glass

I have a set of rear arm rest trim and upper sail panels from a Lemans...they are not the same appearence wise..but not sure if they will fit or not. If I get a chance I will post up some pics of the differences tonight.

It sounds like everyone agrees that they look like they should interchange. Does anyone know for sure? Anyone used panels from one car in the other?

Get ahold of Grandamman, I talked to him some time ago about the parts when I was working on a Grand Lemans. He told me the Lemans sail panels will not fit a Malibu, but I don't know the details.

I need some new panels too (although I might try to restore mine). I've got everything gutted from the interior of my LeMans and it doesn't look like the Malibu ones will work to me. It would be nice if I'm wrong though because it would make replacement part availability so much better lol!

I really dont think they are the same, this is the slight angle in the lower horizontal portion of the rear side window versus the straight window on the malibu, i think that might cause a difference in the upper sail panels, but this is just a theory, i dont know for sure

Ok...took my a little bit to find the right boxes out in the garage...here's some pics of what I have noticed for a appearances anyway...

Malibu sail panel...(happens to be for a Landau model..shorter top section)

Lemans sail panel...(taken from a non Landau model)

Malibu panel on top of the Lemans panel...

I can't seem to find the lower arm rest pieces but the Lemans ones would be molded to fit the sail panels and I do remember them being slightly different than the Malibu ones...I know I've got both here just too many boxes to look in. It does appear that they would mount in the same points but I think one would have to use either all Malibu parts (upper and lower) or all Lemans parts.
