now my question is can i use my stock spider gears which are in my car or will i need new?
and this carrier says it for use with mini spool so does that mean i cant use my stock spider gears and i have to use a mini spool or what?

and what else will i need to get this job done? new gaskets etc.....????

That appears to be a factory stock rearend unit gutted out to put a mini spool in.

I think you should be able to place all your limited slip spiders/shims/springs inside.Their not hard to rebuild. The 3 series carrier is just off set some to allow the lower gear ratios.

I broke too many 7.5's in the past to remember what they look like inside now.I went to 12 bolts and 8.5 GN rearends.

Also remember that off set gears can be bought new for the 7.5 from Jeg's/Summit.Nobody I know of makes spacer kits for 7.5's if you try and use a 2 series carrier with the lower gears.

But that factory gear will work on the 3 series unit.Goodluck !

Yeah, that is an open differential. If your going to all the trouble to change gears, why not get a posi carrier. If this is for a street car, you DO NOT want to run a spool, unless you like buying tires. You'll need an install kit. Preferably one with axle & pinion seals.
