The locks on both of my doors are stuck, can't work them with the key as the mechanism is jammed. They are not power locks and I was told that there are plastic clips that can be used that will keep the mechanism aligned and prevent it from jamming. Does anyone have a diagram or a picture of where these go?
Thanks!

Not sure if this will help but I periodically blast all my locks/Tumblers with WD-40. Then in between sprays I probe the tumbler with the key... Work that oil in there...... I do this quite regularly, especially in the winter so they don't freeze up.... I've had it to where I couldn't get the key to go in but with some spray and gentle persuasion I got it to work....

Saw on the news AZ has had some cold temps lately.... After a freezing rain, IF that is even the case. Use a lighter to heat up your key or use warm water. BUT if you use water definitely blast it with oil after to flush the water out so it won't re-freeze.

powdered graphite spray. anything else attracts dirt. the graphite dries into a thin film that keeps the lock from seizing.

anything "wet" will attract dirt and make things worse. i've used WD40 with not so great results. it works when you first use it but by the next week it's dried up and gone.

i have a can made by the same people who make the BP blaster. says graphite dry lube on the can. that's what you want to use. also great for hinges, folding knives, hood release mechanism... also the ones in your doors.

Always wondered why they encouraged the use of graphite in locks :wtf: Good to know, thanks. might switch my practices...

North-West Ohio some-times can have some nasty winter weather and WD-40 Has never failed me once. I don't debate that graphite is better than WD-40......
