Hello all, I have had my 1985 Monte SS since 1990, I am the second owner, the car is driven daily through the summer and put it away for the winter. So far I have driving it around 100,000 miles, I keep repairing it, upgrading it as time goes one, these things last forever right? Back in the day, all we have to share info was the Monte Carlo mailing list and I was a pretty active user. I have 12" 1LE brakes, B-body spindles & calipers. Hotchkis upper arms, energy suspension bushings throughout. F-body hollow front sway bar. 16" Firebird rims with custom wheel spacers. 245-60-16 Yokohama tires. Eldelbrock edl-7979 TES headers, high flow cat, with a walker dynomax cat back exhaust, along with a dual snorkel air intake. ZZ4 PROM, with EGR delete. Transmission is stock 200-r4 rebuilt by Mike Kurtz from Centry Automotive in Houston Texas, Torque converter is precision industries Vigilante with 2500 RPM stall. Engine is still stock, yes it leaks oil, valve stem seals leak, but it runs good.

Sounds like a cool car, man! And I'm not just saying that 'cuz I like Montes.
Tell me about your B-body spindles. :?:

The taller b-body spindles were a requirement for the hotchkis upper a-arms. They may not be anymore. They use the large single piston calipers which take a d52 style brake pad. The can create a minor bump steer condition depending on the springs / ride height in your car. BTW I have the IROC cs5662 springs.

Before the discovery of the Blazer brake swap this was a popular mod however was very expensive. I had a $500 pair of Global West upper A arms that also used B body spindles.

I assume the blaze spindles work with stock UCA's? DO they correct / improve and handling?

Welcome to the site fellow Monte owner. I drive a 86 SC myself my second Monte. Post up some pics of your ride when u can.

Yes. The Blazer spindles (actually called knuckles - blazers use sealed hubs) share the exact same geometry as the factory G body spindle and work with factory UCA's. They do not improve handling over and above the factory unit but they do not create the bump steer issue like a B body spindle does.
