Looking to replace my tach

Hey all
New to the forum. I have an ‘86 Monte Carlo SS with a 383 stroker. I’m looking to replace my tach. My question is does it matter if I get an 8000rmp tach or a 6000 rpm tach?

What’s your redline? 6K may be more informative and less visually disappointing with an externally-balanced rotating assemble.

No it doesn’t matter. But if it’s any performance engine I’d go for the 8.
