I can drive my car normal around town, when I go to get on the interstate and need to punch it, no power. If I back off and ease into it, I can get my car up to speed, around 75-80. what gives? Any ideas?

I'm not a mechanic, but it sounds like a problem with the accelerator pump. With the engine off, look down the carb bores and then snap open the thottle linkage. You shoul see a big squirt of gas out of the nozzles. Worth a try.

A bad accelerator pump would cause a bog when punching it, but it wouldn't loose all power.

kewpie79,

They always say to keep the cat out of the carb. Those fur balls will get you every time... 😀

P.S. On a more serious note, I'm glad you solved it!
