Before I get too deep in this project, I want to see if anyone has done this. I have 17x8 Coy's C5s all the way around with 4.5" backspacing. Tires are 235/45/17 up front and 245/45/17 out back. The question is about the front lowering and another about the rear. I have 2" drop spindles and eibach pro kit springs, a total of approximately 3" of drop in the front and the springs would account for 1" in the rear. Now for the questions.

1: If I install the spindles with the springs up front , am I going to rub the fenders or inner fender wells? Remember I have fiberglass gnx flares and those wide tires and wheels up front as well.

2: How much drop do you get per coil that you cut out of a coil spring in general? I want more than a 1" drop in the rear to even out the car. I would like 2.5" total if not 3" in the rear. Whatever I determine will fill the wheel well up.

Thanks in advance for the help.

My guess is a 3" drop in front will rub the wheels, but it depends on your spring rate also. The spindles should help out some. It's a good thing you're runnin 235's in the front with those wheels & backspacing. If you were going just 1.5"-2" i'd say you're fine, but at 3"....

It's generally about a half inch per half coil, but that's just a shot in the dark. All coil springs have different diameters, rates, etc. That's why it's best to cut a half coil at a time and leave about 1/2" before you reach your target - for the springs to settle over time
