I tore down an LT1 for another project last night. It was previously run in one of my dad's cars and I removed it so I KNOW it was running okay when pulled. The cap was dished, rather than flat, in the epoxied portion on the outside. It was contacting the rotor but made no noise and ran fine. These were OEM parts on a '96 engine. Anyone else seen this before? Crazy!

So that mess ran great, and the perfect looking one on my Daughter's Firebird ran like crap. Your rotor screws are even intact, which are famous for letting go.
