Has anyone tried to install caprice lt1 manifolds and Y pipe on their gbody? From what I've read on some circle track boards they have a good tq output range that is comparable to the corvette manifolds. I can get this stuff really cheap that's why I'm looking at this route instead of headers and y pipe.

I've never personally used that combo in a Gbody frame. I have used them in earlier Abodys though. Early Abodys and Gbodys often share the same header part numbers. Also, many others have swapped LT1s into Gbodys. So, following that logic, I would think that they would fit just fine.
They are D-port and use the "3rd" bolt hole on the outer most bolts. Have you noticed that exhaust manifold gaskets sometimes have an extra bolt hole on the outer ends? These manifolds use them. So if your 305's heads have the extra holes and D-ports they'll be a good fit.
...nd if they dont? would i be better off going with 2 1/4 manifolds and y pipe like off a stock monte ss or tpi camaro?
