hi there..i know that this has been discussed before, and i searched for it, but there is a post from a guy on here that put an LT1 into a 79 or 80 cutlass, as well as installing the new front header panel, anyway, i need to know if i can use the engine and frame mounts from a 96 caprice in a G body for an LT1 swap, and if anything special has to be done.. thanks

Not sure about the caprice mounts. What ever mounts you would use for an sbc into olds mount should work. Lt1 s are sbc not like an ls motor.

The passenger side mount on the block is mounted further back and flipped 180 deg. You need to use an older small block "clam shell" and use the stock v8 rubber style mounts on the frame. There is a stud in the hole where the shell needs to mount. It is suppose to be for the AC compressor rear brace. Just screw it out and you should be good.
