I have a buddy who has a malibu wagon and I wonder if the front end from those cars and the bumper will fit on my 79 monte carlo. Anyone who may have the answer or who has done this before please let me know.

pretty sure u can make it fit, body lines will be off, i can put a cutty front end on a malibu, regal front end on a elky...their all the same frames, or atleast front section, i know the elkys and wagons are 9 inches longer

Sure, physically you could put it on there if you wanted, but that doesn't make it a good idea, it won't line up at all. The distinct body lines on the doors of the monte will have nothing to line up to on the malibu fenders. So sure, it probably is possible, but it will be comical how bad it will look...

I don't think the doors will open with that front end due to the body lines of the Monte. The 4 door and El Camino/Malibu all interchange because most share common door lines.

th answer you may be looking for is no, it is not a simple bolt-on swap, but with enough imagination, skill and talent, anything is possible. i personally wouldn't d it, but you're lso not asking t odo it to MY car!
if you're felingup to a challenge, give it a shot. but easy: it willnot be.

Re: malibu el camino front end and bumper on a 79 monte carl

I know im digging up old threads but this is kind of what I was wondering. My 78 monte is missing all rhe chrome pieces and the bumper is cracked. Can I jus switch out the bumpers? Has anyone ever done this? A buddie of mine says we could make it work but I was wondering if it was simple or if I will be putting alot of time into it.
