When I first bought my car it had one manual door and one power. It is originally power. I finally got around to finding a power door for a good price. I got it for 30 bux. I took the manual door off and installed the power door which came off a regal and my car is a regal. ONE BIG PROBLEM I FOUND OUT. The dang door is too short.

It closes by slamming it but its rubbing against the front fender and doesnt even sit flush. I measuered my old door from weatherstrip to weatherstrip from the inside and it was 51 i think. I measured the new one and it was shorter. I measured the old door and it was almost the same length as my original power door.

I dont know what to do. I'm not taking that door back off and putting the other on because it was heavy and hard doing it by myself. The place i got it from has a cutlass but it has no window so I would have to take that door off to and the pay for the glass out the door on my car.

Anybody have spare doors. Im willing to trade or sell mine.

Have you tried moving it backwards on the hinges? It likely is not aligned right. It took me the better part of two days to get my panel alignments where I wanted them, but I started with the whole front clip removed for easier access. You may wish to take off the offending fender and set the door up with the proper gap at the back and bottom, then align the fender to the door. Here's a tip for the bottom: Use a paint mixing stick or two to get the gap correct at the bottom of the door. Remember that the hinge can adjust at the door and the pillar, and the striker can be adjusted too. So can the window glass. Also, changing the glass is not hard at all. It is four bolts to remove it from the track, and maybe you will have to remove the felt alignment blocks and the alignment pin from the top of the door as well.
