I am thinking of making a radio plate and laminate that allows the installation of this kind of radio. Ill have to move the HVAC controls to the glove box till I fiind a more permanent solution

Amazing what a new head unit does to stock speakers. Keep tuned!!!

Many new things to come to this one

Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS double Din multimedia player center
Orion subwoofers DVC 2 ohm 10" x 2 in a 2.3 cube sealed box
Orion XTR5002 for the Subwoofers, to push about 400 watts ea
Orion XTR5004 to power the cabin speakers
Kenwood 4x10 for the back deck
Boston Acoustics 5-1/4" components for the doors and custom built tweeters into the A pillars
Custom built see through subwoofer box back lit blue led with 1/2" lexan scripted with Hurst Olds and Orion
Custom "false floor" amp rack see through with glass

Feel like I am back in the day when I competed for Phoenix Gold and JL Audio!! Better imaging with this Cutlass than my S-10

That looks pretty cool but I can't see any way you're going to be able to find a place for your heater controls ( that wouldn't look weird at least ).

There is something in the works HVAC wise to free space as well as have electronic controls....keep tuned

Thanks for posting. I received my double din and was hoping to see what someone else did first. Where did you move the HVAC controls to?

Ended up putting them in the glove box. I have a center console so losing that space is not an issue. It was a little tricky. i had to relocate the way the pull cable operates the air door. So i used a screw hole on the right side of the pivot pin and attached it there. It works well, but there is a down side....the cold air is now, hot vice versa. This is because the pull cable attaches on the right instead of the left. i built and fabbed some brackets so the controls wouldnt move. THe mounting of the double din was simple. THe hardest part was making new brackets for the unit and getting it centered in line with the trim bezel so it would open and appear correct and centered. I think I am going to have a radio plate manufatured so this can be an option. I am also getting a new laminate so it looks factory. I moved my cigarettle lighter to my center console ashtray.
