I was looking under my Cutlass Cruiser today and noticed the rear shocks have air tubes running to them. I am pretty sure they are for manual lifting/lowering. I looked it up in the owners manual and it says there should be an air charge connector under the gas flap. But there is nothing there. Does anyone else have these things? I wonder if the air shocks hold air anymore.

I had some on my chevelle, but they were not factory. I don't like the full air shocks. By trying to make them sit at an apropriate ride height, you have to ad more air and that cuts the comfort level. My friend had air/gas combo shocks in his Cadillac. They were AWESOME!!!

Yep, air shocks are so 1970's.

Although the G-body 442's came stock with them and your right, there was a fitting near the gas filler neck that you could adjust them by adding or removing air.

The only reason anybody uses air shocks anymore on these cars are mostly for show cars where they are going for maximum originality points. Other than that its best to junk them and get a proper gas charged shock like Bilstein, etc. The car will ride better and handle better all around.
