My setup doesnt make much vacuum for the booster, is there an easier way to fix this like converting to a manual master cylinder? Id rather not run a belt driven pump, and hydroboost isnt an option as I have already converted to manual steering.

Manual brakes are one option. You can also buy an electric vacuum pump with a reservoir to help your vac power booster.

Oh snap! Its the GODFATHER!

I wonder how many other users on this forum also were on the olds listserv circa 1997??

I tried to launch at 2500rpm tonight but pushed the car through the beams AGAIN for a nice redlight. Didnt matter though, as it decided to run to rich and spat back at me for a nice 8.xx 330 time. Im about ready to send this shitbox to the crusher. Honda hatchbacks were running consistant low 9s and here I am in a '79 CS set up to race full time with a BBC and pull off a nice 12.5 pass. In the 1/8th mile! And I backed it up with a nice round 13! WTF!

You can buy a vac reserve canister from summit or jegs . Most big cam engines make idle vac , but hardly any at full throttle . The canister keeps vac in reserve to work the booster when needed . They look nice , are not too big or expensive and work well . No kiddin , i new a guy that was going up a side street with his camaro . They had just gotten it running that day . He was showing off for a few friend and nailed it up that hill . He got to the top and stood on the brakes ........... he wound up going into the peoples house at the end across the street . Luckily no one was injured , except the house and Tims camaro . He put a canister on it and never had that prob again , And a new clip......

Hmm an electric vac pump is $300+ 🙁

A reserve tank is $40 or so...

Ill start with the tank I suppose. I could care less how the brakes feel driving around town, but pushing through the beams sucks.

way too small right now. something like 2500-2800 rpm. should be at least 3300-3500 with this cam.
