I'm watching Mecum Houston and some really low prices are buying amazing vehicles.
68 442 4 speed AC for $25k
Should've been more like 38

“Muscle cars” have been softening for a while now. The crazy options and ultra rare are still pulling big bucks, but it’s not the same as 10-15 years ago where every bondoed up, cut fendered, non-original sbc Chevelle could be bought, restored and sold at a profit.

Build costs on most run of the mill cars are higher than market price today.

Good for the buyer now. I've had two 68 Camaros in the past when I was a teenager. Had to sell them for nothing in the early 90s. Would love to get another but prices have been out the roof, except today. 68 z-28/RS went for 40. Still high for most (me) but it should have been around 55 or 60. 70 442 for 20. 84 HO for 12.
I should have registered to bid.

Now if only they can lay off of our cars. 😉

Honestly, we are headed into a recession. Inflation is taking its toll, and when essential services (like education) are proposed for cuts, the writing is on the wall. Consequently, anything that looks like a luxury item or discretionary spending is going to take a back seat. Hell, I stopped buying Doritos because they are up to $3.50/bag.

Man, you need to move south and go to Food Lion this week. BOGO on the TOES. (Fritos, Cheetos, Doritos). Doritos comes out to 2.15 per bag (USD- that's something like $65.34 in CAD). Now it MIGHT have something to do with this next week being Masters week around these parts...all the golf gurus and wannabes come to town fighting for a green jacket.

Food Lion? There's a name I haven't heard in a LONG time. They collapsed here after that whole green meat thing back in the early 90s
