Master cylinders

My car came with a cast iron master is this a after market master ? I see most cars seem to have aluminum ones, how do they hold up ? Thanks . Bernhard

Most likely swapped out, however more info is needed...
Does it have the plastic reservoir?
Is your car a diesel with the hydro-boost setup?

Non diesel with no hydro boost. 86 2dr cutlass built in Canada. 305 chev 😢 . Plastic reservoir. Thanks. Bernhard

Must have been replaced by an aftermarket unit.
In the 8 G-body's I've owned I've never had a problem with a master cylinder.
