So I bought a pretty clean 92 chevy 1500. Has the 4.3 v6. It idled so low it would stall and I replaced the IAC ans now it screams at about 1800 rpm. Only thing I changed was the IAC. I did the reset procedure that the directions had. Drive 40mph for a couple mins and shut it down and start it back up. Didnt change a thing. Anybody have any ideas? First it idled low and now it screams

Double check your procedure, did you ground the A and B terminals? Turn on the key for 5 seconds to acc but don't start. Unhook the jumper, IAC plug and start the motor. Plug it in and the idle should climb. They idle very low, I grind out the cover on the TB adjustment and speed it up. I am running a slight cam and it idles better idiling slightly higher.
