To any Cutlass owners here that used a mechanical clutch fan on the GMPP serpentine belt system, I would like to know how large of a fan you used while using factory V8 1pc fan shroud? What spacer you used, if any? Part #'s are even better.

I've never used that combo but I would think that matching the size and offset of the original fan would work best. Obviously, make sure the fan is for a reverse rotation pump.

I tried doing this once before and met with difficulty. The company I originally talked to also told me some story about the water on serpentine setup not being meant for clutch fan...and that I would wear through pumps fast. Since then I see many people running the clutch fan. I forget whether my fan on my old sbc was 18" or 19". The biggest question I have is what size/type of spacer? I ask because when I had tried it the fan was definitely further away from shroud than it should be. I believe I tried an 18" fan and standard thermal clutch. I seem to remember finding a spacer was difficult.

Mine measures 19" in diameter and 3" in total depth. You might try one from an S10/Blazer.
