Now I know some people may be a bit hesitant to spill the beans on their anti theft features.
And thats fine. But of those not bothered by that feel free to share what you have or
if you plan to purchase anti theft what you would choose.
My Monte has a trunk mounted battery so I have a master cut off switch mounted in the trunk that kills power to the entire car.
I also have an ignition kill switch that is really there to start the car since when I run a high compression engine I get it cranking first then flip the switch on to avoid kick back.
Also I think I have about 13 unlabeled rocker switches and there needs to be a few on to run the car.
And if my car is not secure in my garage it is always in my line of sight when I go somewhere and of coarse I also have agreed value insurance with the buy back option if anything does happen beyond my control.
Awesome man your fully protected in my opinion. kind of like a bike with a suicide clutch and jockey
shift. I've seen guys leave them in the parking lot key in the ignition nobody in sight. Because they know
the standard Joe cannot ride off with it. Now that's confidence.
I have always been of the opinion that the best is ignition and or fuel cutoffs and not so much on the entry protection. I feel that if they want into your car they are going to do that, so I want to minimize the damage done by the actual break-in. Simple locks will keep out everyone but that determined thief. When you have an ignition kill and or fuel kill they won't get anywhere with it and only draw attention as they sit there cranking the engine over and over and nothing happens.
I'm with you on that. It seems very simple and invisible to do just that. Ignition and fuel cut out.
when I had my 91 Miata I never locked the doors. Because so many said if they want in they will cut up
your $750 top to get in.
My GN and Elco's have Viper with GPS powered by a secondary hidden scooter battery (hooked up to the alternator) + the column lock. Cutlass is a daily driver and I don't have Hagerty on it, so I'll roll the dice. The Viper with GPS is nice... it does cost a yearly fee, but will notify you if the car moves from a set perimeter you designate.
