Ok so 2 days ago it rained really hard for 2 days, i drove both days with no problems. well yesterday I got in my car and started it. started driving it huge missing in the engine in all gears. enough to shake me in the car as I drive. Yes I am hard on my cars and was that night too during the rain. Notice I have

all new plugs 3,000k ago
plug wires 3,000K ago
cap and rotor replaced 20K miles ago
O2 sensor 15,000K ago
EGR 20,000K ago
fuel filter and fuel pump 10,000K ago
MAF sensor 20K ago

There is no smoke, no knocking, either. I took all plugs wires off and I am getting good spark. I even cleaned the lil bit of corrosion that has built up under the cap and rotor. nothing.

my distributor is from a junk yard, but its fine to my knowledge. Anyone god ideas?

I am utterly confused

Are you sure the cap doesnt have a small crack in it that let moisture in? All I can think of at the moment.

with a misfire, the first thing you do is pull the plugs and compare them. just remember which plug goes where! i made that mistake once :blam: also inspect the connectors on the wires and double check the cap and rotor. sometimes the crack is VERY thin and not readily visible. also, you'll see if theres water in the dist when you pull the cap.

If you have headers, run the car for a minute to get the exhaust hot, take a damp rag and touch it to each tube and listen for the hiss. The difference in the hiss will help you to find which cylinder(s) are missing.

well

ok, I pulled all the plugs and the #3 cyllinder was fouled abit. i changed it out and the problem was fixed or so I thought, I wnet and got some gas and beat it a bit flooring it up hills etc to see if it was fixed for good, then it began misfiring again. I have heard that when a car heats up and begins misfiring this can be a clue that it is the ignition module? Because this is exactly what my problem seems to be. I think it may have caused the plug to get fouled. Your thoughts?

Also cant I get shocked from rubbing a wet rage on the plug wires?

Ya, but i said to touch it to the header tubes if you have headers.

pull the plug again and see if it fouled already. if so it's a cylinder problem. a bad module will affect all plugs, not just one. can you post pics of the fouled plug and some of the others? reading them can tell a lot.

K its

dark out right now but tomarrow ill take a picture of the bad plug and one of the good plugs. I replaced the bad plug with a R43 plug the others are R45s. I also havent changed the oil in 3100 miles so it does need to be changed. I have smelled gas in the oil from time to time so I do believe that the rings may be gettin a bit worn out? I know this is a sign of it anyway right? engine has 92K miles on it, or at least I hope it doesnt have 192K on it lol.

one thing that has worked for me in the past was to let the engine run at night so you can see if it is arcing out anywhere. You'll see a quick blue flash if it is
