I like look of 1980 front end/quad lights. If i wanna 1978 or 1979 Monte those lights, is 1980 parts just bolt on, or is there something else (bigger job) what i have to do?

Can i only change headder panel of 1980?
or
Have to i change all front end?

Thanks,
Finnmonte

Ive never changed it but you need to change the whole header panel.

I found a spare from a 78 that I am holding on to. Tough to find those parts.

from my experience they only thing you may need to do is cut a little bit from the bracket were you bolt the fender to the radiator support (not sure if that's what is called). im my case the quad lights did not let the 78-79 fender sit right. i had to use 79 fenders since i could not find the 80 fenders due to accident, other than that they fit perfect.

hope this helps

just buy and '80. there aren't enough proper 3rd gens available to go cutting them up imo.. especially if you don't keep them long term. from what i see (in terms of selling) the 78-79's go alot faster, and for more because of the more recognizable front end. if you have a mutt, i don't see you getting full value out of her at resale.

or you could go chopping one up and make mine worth more. either way..

Somewhat on topic.

Ive tried to change mine around a bit. I like some of the 78 parts on my 79. Went to go put them on. found out the following.

tailight extenstion dont line up at all.
the grille doesnt really work on the header panel. Way to short.

I wanted to put the 78 tail lights on and fill in the side light. no dice...
