I have been thinking about getting a moped or scooter to ride around so I can save some money on gas. Right now, my finances have reached a new level of desperation and I figure I could use it to do my daily tasks except going to work ( I deliver pizza and am not allowed to use anything with less than 4 wheels). Problem is, I have never had one. So, I am wondering just how awful they really are? I would not be buying a new one, but rather a cheap beat up old one that I could fix well enough to get it to work. I want a Honda C70 Passport (Super Cub) from the 70's if I can find one, but would probably take anything I can get cheap parts for if it was around $100. Any suggestions, ideas, etc.? Am I nuts?

I had an '87 Honda Spree way back when.

My mom bought it for me, not running for $50 to tinker with. By the time I got it running, I got my license and a car... so I sold it.
I did ride it around a few times after I sold it to my friend. I never liked it, scooters and motorcycles make me extremely uneasy. With the way most people drive, you couldn't pay me to ride one.
If I never ride one again, I'd be fine with it.
