To reiterate, I'm putting an 84 Regal steering column into my 79 Cutlass wagon. I got all the wiper wiring worked out, thanks to all that helped with that.
I also grabbed the headlight switch from an 85 Cutlass Supreme 4 door. This switch is different and uses push buttons to turn the lights on instead of the typical old school pull/push knob (see photo 1). All the wiring colors are the same on both switches, with the exception the 85 switch has a brown out of the headlight on/off switch AND a brown coming out of the dash lights dimmer wheel (see photo 2). Online I've found that the brown that comes out of both the 79 and 85 headlight on/off switch runs the parking lights. I can't find any info online where the brown out of the dimmer switch goes to. My Haynes repair manual is pretty basic/ generic and for all years from 74-88 it shows the same diagram with the brown from the dash dimmer switch connected to the brown on the headlight switch.
At this point it looks like I simply connect all the brown wires together, but I wanted to verify that before I do it.
Anybody have access to a more specific dash wiring for an 85 Cutlass?
Thanks again for any help!!
