I assume this is a 307 Olds that you're talking about, not a 307 Chevy. If so, be aware that the frame mount brackets for the 307 Olds in a G-body are just slightly different from RH to LH, so be sure you have them on the correct sides. Also, the 307 frame mounts go to the back of the crossmember. The other holes are for different mounts. And "K-member" is a Chrysler term...

we went to put motor in and the passenger side will line up but the motor is sitting a little sideways and the driver side won't line up. will them being on the wrong side make it do that? thanks for the help

Are you using new rubber motor mounts or used ones? They can sag and distort over time, which makes reinstallation a little difficult. One trick is to loosen the bolts holding the mounts to the block, install the cross bolts between the mounts and the frame brackets, then tighten everything. Also consider just getting new mounts. Anchor P/N 2328 is about $3 each at Rock Auto. Be aware, however, that I've had problems with the Chinesium Anchor mounts. In one case the bolt holes for the block attachment were mis-drilled. I was able to slot the hole with a die grinder.

If you have installed the frame mounts, be aware that not only are they different side-to-side, but they are not symmetric top-to-bottom. This may also cause a mismatch when trying to drop the motor in.

When you say the motor is sitting "sideways", how do you know? Is it bolted to the trans? The trans mount may also be misaligned. Try loosening that as well.

yes i have bought new mounts for it. no we tried to just line up the motor mounts before bolting the transmission in just to see what we needed. that is why it was sideways. i will try to switch the frame mounts around tonight and see if that fixes the problem. i will let you know how it goes. i really appreciate all the advice i have never had this much problems.

mounts
