I noticed that buzz in my 6A unit several years back until one day it crapped out on me at a traffic light and had to have the car towed home. It started running eratically...then poof!.. nada.
Fortunately I was only a few miles away from home. Since then I never ran an MSD unit in my car. I went back to the standard type module with a good HP coil. It's been running great ever since.
I must admit, it ran nice and smooth with the MSD box, improved gas mileage and better performance.
I had gotten a replacement and ended up selling it.
Mine did about the same, lucky me I was on a country road, and I always kept my stock hei in the trunk for a "just in case", too bad I forgot my tools in the other car though.....
If I recall. The sound wasn't really a buzz, but kind of a whirring sound. Almost like there was a rotor moving around in there.
That's the best way I can describe it.
I always thought about carrying a spare distributor in the car, but my Accel unit has been so reliable. However, keeping a spare module in the glovebox is a good idea...and a few tools to be able to replace it by the roadside.
