Any here who are musicians who are in bands and play on the weekends or even full time? I have been playing music since I was a kid and been playing in bands for a longggg time now. Never had any aspirations to "make it" in music (other than that time in the early 90s), but just do it for my creative outlet. I am a guitar player (lead/rhythm/acoustic/synth) who has influences/heroes like David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson, Joe Satriani and wonder what others on here are like in that hobby.

Anyone?

Ok, no responses in 24 hours so let me see if I can generate more interest.

Here is me on guitar with a 3-piece instrumental rock band I put together for fun. We're at a place for an open jam.

Damn, I'm fat in those vids. That was 3 years ago. I've lost 50lbs. since then...

neat

Kudos to anyone that can stand up in front of a bunch of people and subject themselves to other people's judgement.

While I would love to play,
A) I'm an old dog, and
B) I hate appearing in front of people

Alright I'll bite.

I've been playing music for the better part of 20 ish years. Been in several bands, written a lot of music and play gigs as small as a coffee shop to audiences in the 2,500 to 3,000 range. Most of the bands i've been in never went very far. One was doing well locally and we toured Austin TX which was fun but didnt pan out.

I'm a guitar player with influences from aerosmith, Kenny wayne shepherd, ZZ top and some Tom petty.

It's a fun hobby and I'm glad I learned to play young. It's great to grab a guitar and just jam for a while to forget everything else.
