MY $2000 DOLLAR 84 CUTLASS BUDGET BUILD PROJECT

I baught this for $1000 bucks ....grabbed my wrecker and towed her home. I decided I wanted to fix this car up but I didnt want to have any more than a total of $2000 bucks total in it. It wil be finished by April. Ive added picture captions to help explain. This car has a good frame but bad quarters, trunklid, hood and rockers. It came with a mild rebuilt 355 Chevy and a Th2004R overdrive transmission. It did come with new brakes, springs, tires, 2 new quarter panels, GeForce crossmember, brand new 3.73 Auburn posi, a brand new flowmaster dual exhaust, brand new top of the line set of traction bars and 2 extra transmissions. 1 2004R, and a th400.... so basically i got my moneys worth in parts alone. Im having the quarters hun in 2 weeks, and im replacing the rockers myself in a week. I have to align the body panels and after that...pearl white paint 🙂...and i will have inbetween 1900 and 2000 total in this whole project since Im painting it myself

popped this chrome cap and I found out I was packin a new Auburn 3.73 posi🙂

i told you all I was on a budget build so I traded the th400 for a th350 that came with a brand new billet pan, and did some horse tradin for a 3000 stall. I used alumibrite to clean it like new again. (a clean transmission is a happy transmission)

didnt want to pay for nice chrome for the grille and headlight frame so I sanded and painted 442 black

found a guy in Mansfield that gave me a rust free hood and trunklid...plus all the body molding for 65 bucks 🙂

you got to love the reliability of a Chevy 355 4 bolt. This one has been rebuilt recently

i took all myinterior out and scrubbed it. Found extra door panels for cheap as hell so I picked them up. Im using all my pieces to make a good clean pair

took all seats out...scrubbed and powerwashed everything to a "like new" finish

traded the 2 th2004r trannys for a set of clean aluminum pro star wheels. The lugnuts were 50 bucks and the caps are 30 on ebay (havent baught them yet). Tires are there for the back and luckily I hd a extra set of tires to put on the front laying around

got the rears installed...fronts will be done tomarrow. Caps are ordered

set of 4 for sale with new tires 300 firm

wheels are finally on; carpet and seats are back in the car...much cleaner (my floorpans are not in great shape 🙁)

Just shot my pearl white..blue pearl flake and metal flake...went over budget, but still only have 2050 bucks in this car....still reassembling and undercoating frame and wheelwells

well...someone in the city put big *ss springs on it...probably so they could put some 22's on it. I like the height cause I live out in the country where the roads are gravel/ mud and full of potholes. :idea: ....it kinda works with my terrein

spent so much time on repairing metal and bodywork. If you look at the before and after pics...I did OK. I hustled a set of new door and trunk seals. I am putting them in tomarrow. Motor is pretty much stock but I traded some parts for a thumper cam, noisy gear drive, and a new set of hedman headers. I have a set and a half of the stainless molding for theis car if anyone is interested, and also have 2 new quarter panals. Will trade....really looking for a spoiler, or maybe some other nice misc parts 😀
