Sorry for the laughably bad pics, the screen on my digital camera is shot and I can't tell what I'm aiming at.. Below are links to my '83 Bonneville, bought it six years ago for $250 and 107k, now has 119k. Also is my daily driver. She was a basketcase, check engine light on, needed water pump, belts, carb rebuild, total brake overhaul, you name it. Was a nice original car though, well optioned, interior was clean, pretty solid just the usual lower door rot, just tired. No mods, though I would like to soup up the stock configuration.

Paint was all oxidized, interior needed detailing. Spent many hours sweating in summer heat hand rubbing the paint to a gloss and replaced the hubcaps- the stock wires looked too stodgy so I swapped to the sportier late 70s GP ones I put on it. What I really want are those Pontiac honeycomb style (rally II I think)wheels. If I had the time and money I'd get the lower body trim redone and give it a new paintjob.. if money was no object I'd restore it since the interior is good, all it needs is a refurb. Already did the headliner.

I know the car isn't worth even $2k but out of a labor of love I spent $4k in parts and three years in my garage tediously restoring it. Used Delco parts wherever I could. Did everything by the service manual, testing the CCC system, making sure everything is working properly. Of all cars I've owned this I did the most work on. The hardest thing was replacing the speakers in the dash without breaking the plastic structure. I put in a Delco tape deck and a Delco equalizer. I'm telling you if you have a stock Delco system that you want to keep, you have to get one of these. The improvement in sound is awesome.

My other car, the one that started my obsession is an '87 Caprice Landau Sport Coupe. I also have an '83 Olds 98 Regency that is my other project, will post pics soon. I want to get one of those 1978 Cutlass salon fastbacks at some point. The coupes are cool but I love the angular roofline of the sedan g bodies. If there was a modern interpretation of the design I would buy the new car. Closest I've seen is the latest Caddy DTS.. really into these cars as you can see lol :notworthy:

Love the Caprice. They only built around 1700 of those that final year of the 2-door...

My grandma had one of those she special ordered with no a/c and no radio. Total bare bones.
Would've been so perfect to put a big-block in... :x

That's what I heard, not many around. I've thought of finding a 400 block from an earlier model and putting it in there but they're hard to find. Right now it does need an engine, it's been parked in the garage for a year and a half waiting. The 305 wasn't even healthy when I bought it. When I had the money to get a good block I bought the Olds instead- like I really needed another project..
