Small town NY
Not car related for once but I think its pretty cool.
My daughter is a full time paramedic. Earlier this year she along with her crew saved a woman that was in cardiac arrest. Last month they all recieved an award from the county. The woman they saved came to the ceremony. Needless to say it was very emotional for everyone.
This morning a local news site interviewed my daughter. Didnt think it would be on the site so quickly.
My baby girl. Grown up and saving a life. It doesnt get any better for me. She loves the job. She loves helping people. Looks like she found her calling.

My 21 y/o is in her last year of nursing school and is working part time at a local hospital, so I can relate. Proud that she has a plan and is making it happen, not like her old man that didn't have a clue at that age.

you must be a proud papa..
Yes I am. My daughter wasnt sure what road she wanted to take back when she was 18. I told her to join the local community ambulance. Do something for the town she grew up in. Once she was there for a few months she asked us if we would pay for an EMT course at the local community college. She sailed through that and wanted to go further. She took a 15 month program run by one of the major health organizations in NY. Her field rotations on an ambulance started right at the beginning of Covid. She was working 6PM to 6AM in some of the busiest areas out here and it was almost an hour ride to get there. Quite a few patients that were picked up were Covid. A stabbing, a shooting. Needless to say we couldnt wait for her to graduate.
Shes been full time at this agency for a little over a year. Besides being a paramedic they made her the logistics manager. Stocking the rigs and responder vehicles with meds and supplies. A month ago they had a big dinner and they gave her an Employee of The Year award. Shes also working per diem at two other departments. Shes doing what she loves.

Being a nurse is a great job. Wy wife was an RN and worked in the local ER for 30 years. My son became an x ray tech. Graduated in '13 and works constantly. His wife just went through the same program and shes working as a CT and MRI tech. Also great jobs. Im just the patient of the family. LOL

Wholesome. I’m sure it’s not easy to be a first responder 💯💯

That's great! It should be recognized more often. My Wife as a Nurse helped saved a few lives in the ER. She was always the first one to run for a code blue. Another thing that doesn't get recognized enough in Nursing is the contribution to the end of life, something we all have to face. My Wife put comfort from pain and used her natural sense of humor to distract the patients from the oncoming fate for all of us. You should be proud👍.
