More then anything you would really need to be there to see how funny it really was but here it goes...... I went to wyotech in laramie wyoming about 3 months after i graduated to start school. every three months classes ended, people graduated and the new kids had orientation. for the kids that had more classes left to take we would get a few days off to relax which was awesome, after 3 months strait of monday through friday classes from 7:15am till 4:30 or so you really got sick of being in class! well being wyoming, and no offense if your from wyoming; but trying to party there when your under 21 really sucked after the first three months, everyone in laramie hates "techers" and the cops are out specifically to catch wyotech students so they get kicked out of school (its a very tough school) after so many weekends of sledding down the apartment stairs and jumping from apartment building to apartment building searching for the very few girls that laramie has it really gets old. so anyways we had christmas break and my roommate and i where heading back to the southeastern corner of south dakota. we left after class and had to drive about 9 hours home. half way through the trip we decided we where going to take a different way home to keep thins interesting. we decided to head north at north platte and take hwy 83 to mission and the take hwy 18 to hwy 50 that runs right to my home town. so here we are running down this dark diserted but i may add ver very smooth and mostly strait country highway in the middle of nebraska. Now anyone that has been through nebraska or lives there knows that the state seems to think we really need to slow down to see the vast amount of nothing that takes up the whole state. Being the young college kids we where there was no way in hell i was going to drive 60mph on this empty road in the middle of nowhere with no cars for miles. so here we are after doin around 80mph most of the way we get close to a certain indian reservation and see a few cars leaving the casino there i would guess around 12pm or so. we didnt think much about it and kept going. about 5 miles past this casino we see headlights coming up pretty fast behind us all over the road. after tailing us for quite some time this beat up regal passes us in all its glory leaning to the back right corner with exhaust pipes hanging down dragging, this guys swerving all over the road the cars loud as hell and really needs shocks and springs for sure and if i remember right it had 4 different sized tires on it. me and my buddy laughed our asses off at the sight of this piece of sh*t all over the road and joked about the guy putting the thing of the road.
we drove for quite sometime more and come to this little town and see flashing lights from a police car. now this place has some steep hills off the side of the road as you pull into town and we're pullin up to the cop car and see black marks that lead off the road into the ditch and off this hill. as we drive by we see the cop lookin out at the ditch radio in hand hand on his head talking on the radio at the side of his car. we lean over to try and get a better look as we drive by and see the very same beat up regal down at the bottom of this hill smashed up. i guess i dont know if the guy died or what exactly happened but at the time it was pretty damn funny just to look at the cop looking down radio in hand and seeing the same car down at the bottom of the hill.

Yes, we have ridiculously low speed limits here. We also have a helmet law which REALLY pisses off bikers heading for Sturgis. However, if you went to Wyotech, you have no business dissing Nebraska. I hope they taught you better than every other moron I've met who went there.

i guess i dont know what me going to wyotech has to do with sharing my feelings about nebraska. maybe its because i spend to much time driving over there for work trying to find farms in the middle of nowhere. the fact that the only thing that can be labeled is country street signs half the time just annoys me. not only do most the people expect me to know where they live even though they dont have their name on the mail box which is most commenly a john deere mail box or the lack of house numbers is just ridiculous. I'm not saying anything that isnt true. i'm sure its nice to live in nebraska and have some privacy, hell i lived on a farm for most of my life and still miss it. Its just irritating to have people expect you to know where they live by sheer guess, they expect you to be there by the snap of the finger and then expect you to fix their stuff and charge nothing even though they live 20+ miles away. i guess my biggest gripe about nebraska is the low speed limits along with the crappy marked roads and houses that arent even marked atleast around where i live. the rest of the state may be difforent. i cant say i spend much time in the south to west end.
