Hello all, Im Jermey from Van Buren, Arkansas (western Arkansas). I found your site looking around the interweb for parts and im impressed so I thought I would join up!

Back in December of 83 my dad picked up a 84 White with blue interior Monte Carlo SS. Buckets with center console shifter. I was only 2 at that time so I dont remember it much when it was new. My dad lives in Little Rock which is a 2 hour drive from my house. When I was between the ages of 5 and 8 I saw my dad only every 4 or 5 months and I always looked forward to him picking me up in this car. I loved it!!!....big, loud, fast (I was young lol).

In 1990 due to hard times my dad sold the car to a friend of his. His buddy kept the car in ok shape but he didnt take nearly the care that my dad did. It got a few bumps and scratches here and there but the car was still in great shape. 5 Years later guess what???? Car is up for sale and dad buys it back lol.

Dad keeps it another year and is forced to sell it because his wife (ex now) didnt like the car for some reason that im still unsure of (still not fond of this lady). It gets sold to somebody that saw the add in the paper and now its just gone. Fast forward to 2000 and Im graduating high school. Dad calls me up to meet him a few hours before because he wants to show me something. I meet him at a parking lot and he pulls up in a white Monte Carlo SS. He gets out and tosses me the keys.......from the schock of all this I just never wonder if its the same car but it was.

A few months before he gave me the car he was driving around about an hour from his house and saw it, he checked the vin and sure enough it was his old car. He bought it and replaced the original knocking 305 with another 305.

I have it now and it served DD duty for years but now I have have ditched the 305 and carbs for a LT1 w/LT4 heads, intake and hot cam and a 4l60e as motivation now. It has been off the road for a few years during this and its slow going. It runs and drives fine but the suspenion and other parts are showing there age so I try not to drive it much. I have plans of going all thru the suspension, steering, brakes, body mounts, and inteior fairly soon.

anyway on to some pics

I still have a lot to do under the hood to be happy with it. Right now it runs like a top and im able to take it for short drives.

ohh heres my other SS. 06 Supercharged Cobalt

That's a great story for a great car. Welcome aboard.

Nice story and extra nice Monte SS. I wanna do an LT1 in my cutlass but I don't know the difficulty level to it.

Its not bad if you have done any kinda motor swap before. It bolts in like any other sb. By a complete motor and transmission and avoid having to "peace" the stuff together. It kills the drive really fast when you cant find parts. I went aftermarket harness and I alway recommend it to others.......so much easer and cleaner. Also take your budget and how long you think it will take and mulitiply them by X 3.

Thanks for the comments and warm welcomes guys, lots of nice cars here.

welcome to the board, is there no heater??

Nope no heater, at one time I had a 400sb in it and did more racing than driving. I wanted to make it into a driver agian so I went EFI.......im hopeing that before to long I might have something that makes some PSI close to where the heat box used to be. 😀

Nice!! Another LT1 SS!! I am really leaning towards stripping the LT1 out of my Fleetwood and shoving it into one of my SS's
