My shifter project...

I'm trying stuff like this in the '81, then using what I learn when I rebuild the '78.

Instead of having a shifter handle that comes up and arcs back, I plan to use a bracket to move the entire shifter back, and use spherical/heim ends to take out the slop.

How it was positioned:

The plan was originally to save some $ and make my own setup, but I came across one a few nights ago for $110, and after pricing all the parts, I may spend close to that on parts alone, and this kit has all the hardware, I just need to bolt it up.

Yes, that's a 3-speed kit I know, but they have a 4-speed kit as well. The other kit I found was over $400

I also think I'm going to pick up a console to put around it. A console has been on my list of things to get for the past 10 years

Here's my original thread if anyone's interested in reading through it.

Just thought I'd put this up here to give people ideas 🙂
