So my carpet in my s10 beater is getting pretty nasty. It got rained in recently and smelling pretty bad. I was thinking about pulling the carpet out, and hitting it with a power sprayer at one of those d.i.y. car washes. Good idea? Bad idea? Anyone done this?

Try using some baking soda and carpet cleaner (Carbona, etc.)

It works pretty good it just take a long time to dry out.

Thanks TC. I figured it would work, I just wasent sure if it would be too much water and start to get moldy and mildewy before it could dry.

I hung mine over a fence for a couple of days. It came out pretty good mine was packed with mud.
I scrubbed it with dish soap and a stiff brush. Bring lots of quarters

I bought a cheap shop-vac years ago and only use it for wet !! Pull the carpet, set it in the driveway with some water a little ( and I mean a little ) laundry soap and a stiff brush. Go to town, hose it off, and suck up what you can with the shop-vac. Repeat the process 2-3 times and it will be clean as can be. The shop vac helps get rid of most of the water so it doesn't take as long to dry.

I did the same to my carpet and it turned out great. I didn't use anything to scrub it, just used the power washer with whatever soap they used and spent like 5 minutes on it. Be prepared to get wet  Instead of using a shop vac to vacuum up the water, I just used a smaller carpet cleaner to vacuum it up, just didn't use anymore soap.
