So i live in MN where they salt the roads in the winter time and i really dont want to drive my wagon in snow because its still very solid for being a MN car all its life, i been thinking about selling or trading my wagon as much as i dont want too its too hard sharing a car with the gf. So the car sits in the driveway right now not being driven i kinda want to know what you guys would say i could get for it. I have over $3500 into it including what i paid for the car but i also rebuilt the carb, new thermostat, platnuim plugs, wires, cap, rotar, oil changed and trans flushed. the car has a rebuilt 3.8 v6 it was done some years ago(original owner) i was told it has 30k on it ive been driving the car from may til last week everyday 40 mile round trip to work. The body is nice few dings and chips and the only rust ive found was it needs a driver floor pan. other things that it could use is a headliner and the exhaust could be redone as well as manifold gaskets. the speedometer bounces lol. it has american racing wheels and looks decent it runs and drives has all chrome trim and interior is all there car is kinda maroon as well as interior all there just not perfect. id like to get $1800 out of it what do you think/.

Well I've learned that you never get back all the money that you dump into a car. So I wouldn't think you could get $3500 for it because folks would just look at all the "problems" the car has, and not how much you have put into it.

yes i know ill never get what i have into it, i just figured id mention that. id really like to get 1800 i tthink thats a fair price. i dont even know if ill sell it, i love the car and its fun to drive but if someone showed the cash id have to and invest in a 4x4. Even if i got rid of the wagon id eventually have another Gbody. ive always wanted to race pure stocks at the local dirt tracks up here and its all montes, regals and cuttys racing.

$1800 is a pretty fair price, though it's hard taking a $1700 hit like that...

Drive it down to Minneapolis with $1000 and you can take my '96 Caprice home with you!

for a good car in snow, look no further than subaru. best AWD i've ever seen in a non-mil spec vehicle. and they are good reliable cars with decent to great power.
but the dual cam timing bets are a major pain in the *ss! as you get the cams lined up, one always jumps on me. other than that i love 'em. just wish they made a good diesel in the US.

blake i have an i dentical caprice sitting in my drive way minus the B/A push bumper. its got no title so im enduro racing it next year 😀 And yes i agree id love a AWD with a 5 speed but im not looking to spend alot. for now im looking at a 79 chevy pick up with 38" tsl's that has a good running motor and wasent mud bogged i know the guy personally and he put the 8" lift and tires on it and never drives it. I would love to keep my wagon but at the same time its just taking up space :blam:

if they didnt salt up here id just drive the thing but its too clean, only rust is the floor pan. The car came from by st.paul so i wonder if the orig owner ever drove it in winter?

Car looks awesome! Id love to own it! But I recently bought a jeep for winter and dont need to own 3 and a half projects. Trade a 88 Cherokee limited?

The wagon is the perfect winter vehicle, I drove min all last year, with no problems!
over here, we are getting quite good at taking care of our cars in the winter, and I`ll give you a few pointers!

clean the undercarriage good.
buy some sprayon bedliner
spray it on good, wait a few hours and spray it again.
make sure, that you get into every nook and cranny.

leave it to harden for a day or so, and then drive the darn thing.

every two weeks, drive down to your local carwash, and clean the underside of the car.
when the summer comes, lift up the car, and check the underside, if ther`s any cracks in the bedliner, scrape of a 70% bigger area, than the crack, and treat it against rust.

if you do this, then the car will live for a long time.

ps, in the summertime, when it rains, where do the salt end up??
under your car!
