I'm looking for the perfect set of headers for my 84 Regal... Currently has a 383 sbc with the 1 5/8 hooker headers and straight plug heads. I have a set of Dart Pro 1 heads(angle plug) that I would like to throw on. I am almost certain the angle plugs won't fit the Hooker headers. Plus the primaries are too small for my combo with the Dart heads. The car has the heater box deleted.
Here is my header wish list:
1. 1 3/4" Primaries
2. Must clear full size stock oil filter - I use the oil filter adapter without a bypass and a short filter isn't going to flow enough. I am OK with unbolting the header to change the filter. I just don't want to run a remote filter. With a huge engine bay like this someone must make a good header that clears the filter. On my big block Vega I understand having to use a remove filter, but not on this.
3. Must clear angle plug heads.
4. Must clear oil pan with normal kickouts. Nothing fancy, just a regular 7 quart pan.
Do my dream headers exist?
