Hello guys, I recently had a 350 sbc rebuilt and I installed it into my brothers car(87 caprice). Everything has been smooth up until now. I'm having hella trouble with the throttle. Could anyone tell me what throttle bracket I need. The transmission is a 700r4. I am guessing I need a throttle bracket with a provision for kickdown/detent cable. Also what geometry corrector will I need? The carb is an Edelbrock Performer 1406(electric choke-600). Long story short-part numbers for throttle bracket and corrector for 700r4 and Edelbrock. If it matters, the car originally had a 305. Thanks for any help, it will be greatly appreciated.

The original throttle bracket should be used  If not, just get yourself a cheap Mr. Gasket chrome throttle cable bracket/kickdown bracket. They are adjustable.

The factory one won't work. The intake is a Professional Products Air-Gap so nuttin lines up as far as that stuff goes. I bought one of those universal chrome one from from Autozone but the detent fit. It won't rrwach the carb. Im at a loss. I think my brother is losing hope as well as me. I had to leave it alone for today. I was tired of looking at it. LOL

I have definitely had to give up on a job for the day because of frustration. I honestly don't understand why these brackets are so hard to fit :? I am just planning on fabricating a bracket for my kickdown cable

amen to that ritter....my 2bbl carb set up is a nightmare trying to find and fit a tv cable that will work. When in doubt, fabricate!

I never makes sense to me ... when I swapped the first SBC/TH350 combo into my Regal, straight out of the truck. The kickdown cable didn't work. I didn't even change anything :? The transmission and engine was never even seperated :x But I am definitely going to take the time to hook the cable up on my new setup. It is very annoying to not have the automatic kickdown

Can you post pics of what your working with here. Can you cut/grind the original bracket and make it fit? I had to do that with my engine.

I will try to get some pics up in a little while. The detent wont even fit the bracket, its to bulky. I have actually ordered 2 brackets from summit that their tech department suggested(said would definately work) and to send both back for refunds. Im sure it wouldnt be a problem if I used an aftermarket set of cables but theses aren't broke nor do Me or my brother have the money to keep pouring into this car. This is the only holdup. I have spent too much money on it for it not to be mine, but I havent minded helping my car illiterate brother. LOL
