Can anyone provide some measurements for locating the shifter on a Saginaw transmission? I have an adapter plate but want to verify the shifter is in the correct location. I believe Hurst makes a plate included in their installation kit #3730017. I can also work from some Hurst plate dimensions if anyone has one laying around.

Thanks, Frank

Are you trying to make your own or mod up one to fit? Hurst does offer the correct one by it self (p/n 195 0125) if that's all you need. Jegs & Summit can get it for you. But for a general idea, the shifter will sit about centered between the main case & speedo gear. Somebody out there might have one out to give a better idea with measurements, mine is still packed away in the shed for the time being.

Maybe not make but modify what was on the transmission when I bought it. In lieu of a stamped piece the previous owner fabricated one out of 1/2 inch aluminum plate. I can tweak it a bit if necessary and would rather put the cost of the 3730017 install kit towards something else. Any dimensional references would be appreciated. I can also work it from the correct location of the shifter hump if anyone knows how to properly locate this.
