I am in the middle of an engine swap and weight loss program for my wagon.
I am stripping the cruise that doesn't work and the a/c that I do not need and doesn't work.

My question is how do I remove the Ac from the firewall?

Do I need parts from a non AC car?

Does a non AC car has better or more air vents?

I was thinking I should pull the stuff off the firewall while the engine is out?
Thanks

Lindsay,
To do it right you'll need to find a non-AC, or heat only heater box. I'm sure up in the northland they should be more prevalent.
If I'm not mistaken, I think you'll also need the duct work and non-A/C dash control unit.
I'm sure some other guys on the board will chime in. I think Blake442 had swapped his out for the heater only unit. He'll fill you in for sure.

...and pulling the unit from your firewall with the engine out will make it a lot easier to access.

Okay thanks
I think I found everything I need for 60 from a non AC car. The young fellow says he can change everything in 3 hours so I might try to hire him.

I wonder if the non AC unit will give better air flow into the car?

My AC hasn't worked since I got it and it seem to cool the car okay with the windows down on a hot day.
