now before i go get the parts, i need some help with this one...my pitman arm...
i searched my part stores and cant seem to find one...am i out of luck or can i replace the joint?
And one more thing...is it worth it to buy a steering box rebuild kit or just luck up and see if my parts

There is no joint in the pitman arm. its where the joint of the inner tie rod end goes into.

I know when I changed mine it was a b*tch. I ended up pulling off the steering box to get the inner tierod out.

from my experience unless the pitman arm is bent or cracked from an accident you are ok. just replace the tie rods and idler arm.

ok but right below where my finger is pointing there is a big gap...i know its not suppose to be there and when i turn my steering wheel the pitman arm moves about 1/4 inch before it makes contact...what causes that...oh yeah my tie rods are ok for now

Hi your pitman arm is a solid chunk of steel with no moving parts it does not fail. But your draglink has the joint in it witch is the failing part .

The part you need will either be called a center link, or drag link, any parts store should be able to get one as well as your loccal dealer.

ohh man... i was so half a sleep looking at the pic.

+1 with above

Id say get a new steering box, when the box starts leaking on the shaft you need the shaft fix at a machine shop the seal surface is wore.
