Have an 83 Hurst/Olds.......alot of the engine ,,,CCC,and emissions equipment checks ,,call for hooking up a dwell meter..
Looking for a recommendation for a good dwell/tach meter....

I had a ck eng light come on for a couple minutes,,then go out and did not return....Had a code -45..rich exhaust mixture...To do the rest of the checks as prescribed by the chassis service manual,,i need a dwell meter to ck ck operation of the mixture control solenoid.

What do you guys have ,that works well,,is accurate and will work good for my application ??

Thanks,
Erik

I use an old Sears analog meter. It has worked well for me for 20 years. The Actron CP 7605 is just about the same. There are digital models but I never needed to replace my analog.

Digital dwell meters are buffered so they will not work with testing CCC systems. Only analog dwell meters will work with CCC, and Acton seems to be the only manufacturer of them now.

Thank you......That's the info that i need....I appreciate the response...Have only had the car about 6mo now ,,,and this is all learning and education for me.
I'll find me an analog to purchase.
