Hi guys/girls,
Just returned home after 2 long years in Thailand. Great place to work and tan but not to many Gbodies running around. In fact I only saw 3 that were actually running while there!
Can't hardly wait to have my monies transferred here and then go shopping for a decent ride.
I read this forum a few times lately and believe I will pick up some valuable lessons.
I'll keep checking in and learning.
Thanks,Billy.

Ditto on the WELCOME! Great bunch of guys here with a plethora (crapload) of info!!!!!

welcome to the forum

Hi all,
Finally got my dough from work and bought a cutlass. It's a 1988 supreme,RWD,and want to take out the 307 and put something bigger in. It won't be a d.d.and will only get about 200 or so miles a week put on it.
Can't decide on what to do to replace with. I only have a budget of $4000.00. May seem like lots but i have zero mechanic skills,so I'm paying the piper,so to speak.
I've worked very hard for the past 5 years to get where I am now, driven crap cars in that time,so it's time to reward myself.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks, Bill.
oh ya,it has the 200-R4 transmission and a 7.5 rear end..what ever the heck that means!lol

200-r4 is a 4 speed, which means you can go with some decet rear gears and not be screaming too bad on the highway. 7.5 is the typical g body rear end. Theyre supposed to be pretty weak. Some people will say they are crap and swap to an 8.5 or better, some say they can hold up if youre not too bad on them. Mine is fine, but im only making about 250 horses. I would say upgrade if youre gonna be making any kind of decent power.

Thanks cdg for that. should I take my questions to another forum section to get more responses? If so, where is best? how can you tell I'm new to forums? Never had car sites like this before I left country. sorry for ignorance. lol

Is it cool to just leave my topic on this thread? No point in starting one that may already exist,I looked for one like it but they bounced off topic so no need to beat an old horse to death.

Welcome aboard man, that sound like a great project car. Have you thought about what your going to replace the 307 with yet.ca And if you have some pics of the cutlass, get those shots up because we love pics here. 😀 😀 😀

I'm looking for either a 350 or 403. Olds of course. 8)
I'm going to hook up my printer this weekend,'cause it's packed in some box which I never labeled. duh.
moving sucks.

I can't find the box with camera in as well. Don't have a phone that takes pictures. They didn't allow them where i worked in Thai,so never have had one. guess it's time I got with the times. lol
