Took a break from working on the car for the past few weeks to get some project around the house taken care of.

One of which was to revamp my entertainment wall. I just bought a 60" Sharp LED TV a few weeks ago and really didn't like any of the TV stands out there on the market. For one, none of them would hold all of my equipment and two, they are really expensive for what you actually get. Basically MDF with a fake wood veneer. 🙁

So I decided to install the TV on the wall and then come up with my own way of hiding all of the wires.

In construction photo above. I built a frame from 1x3 poplar that I mounted to the wall and then on top of that a 1/4" piece of plywood which gets Pergo flooring attached to it.
The stone is from Menards and is made my Stone Master. Pretty inexpensive at just $29.99 per box. The wall took roughly 6 boxes to complete.

Picture after the wood panels were installed with the LED tape lights behind them:

And lastly with the TV mounted and hooked up:

I originally was going to make a couple of shelves that would attach to the wall below the TV to mount all of my equipment on but after researching IR Repeater systems decided to move all of the equipment to the walk-in closet behind the TV and then just run the wires through the wall. Still need to get the IR repeater setup so hopefully it works properly.

Only thing left is to run the speaker wiring through the attic to my rear surround sound speakers and then buy a new, smaller set of tower speakers for the front. I have an old set of Pioneer floor speakers that are in great shape but are just way too big and will cover half the TV. 🙁

Looks great. Were did you get the stone from? I'm looking to do something like that to cover brick on my fireplace in my Living room. My car projects are always being put on hold to do home improvement projects. Then my house projects get put on hold because an emergency house repair/car repair is needed. Its a vicious cycle but everything comes along.

Right now I'm building a bar with kegerator in my finished basement, but now I'm doing body work on my truck and going to paint in a couple weeks, then I had replace the water heater so the truck went on hold.....The pleasure of home ownership, but I wouldnt change it for nothing.

looks good kinda what i did.but i was remolding the kitchen and install a 42 inch in the wall, did that last year. the only wire shown is hdmi cable to hook my laptop to it.

Thanks. I bought the stone from Menards. Its actually a manufactured product designed to look like real stone. Cost was $29.99 per box. That covers approximately 6.7sq.ft.

Thanks Bill. The back lighting is just switched with a small rocker switch. I actually have them plugged into the spare AC outlet on the back of my stereo receiver so that anytime I power on the stereo the lights will come on.
