What's up guys. I've been checking out these forums for many years, just never signed up. Every car I've ever owned so far has been an Olds or Buick. I started with an 86 Olds Cutlass Ciera, 94 Buick Regal, and a 97 Olds Eighty Eight. I just can't get away from GM 3.8L engines. The worst one by far has been the 97. In the shop constantly. Every problem seems to be related to fuel delivery, pollution control, and the UIM. I'm done with newer cars. All the pollution control and electronics have become ridiculous. Newer cars are even worse. If you need a car to park itself or tell you when your tires are low, you shouldn't be driving! I can't stand the body style on anything less than 10 years old either. Every car looks the same these days. My old man was selling his 84 Cutlass, and I immediately took the for sale sign off. That's my kind of car. I always loved the G-Bodies. The car has over 140k miles, but runs well. It certainly needs work though. It's been garage kept it's whole life, but does have some rust, mostly on the doors. It's also equipped with the 3.8L V6 which everyone loves so much! I've had it a little while but haven't done much. I've been able to work on my own cars for the most part when I'm able to figure out the problem but nothing major- alternator, starter, brakes, fuel pumps, replaced a gas tank, etc. The 84 Cutlass I haven't touched yet for the most part. Just needed a tune-up and brakes basically. This year I'm tearing into it though. It handles pretty poorly, and doesn't exactly take off when I step on it. My goal this summer is to get it over 200hp and finally have it painted, so I'll be bugging everybody a lot!
