Just wanted to say hi; belonged here years ago when I had a Monte Carlo. Sadly, life kind of got in the way of both the car and me posting on the forum. Couldn't stay away, though, so decided to rejoin with my '83 Olds.
Car originally was ordered in May '83 from my cousin's dealership in the Bronx and delivered to my grandparents 2 weeks later. Was ordered as a base Cutlass Supreme sedan with the 307, A/C, HD suspension, one-wheel wonder rear, dealer upgrade Sherwood radio and not much else. It faithfully ferried everyone to school, work, on trips, errands, and lots of rides to nowhere in particular.
12 years ago, it received a '70 Olds 350, #6 W31 heads, W31 flat-top pistons, Comp Xtreme Energy 286 cam, RPM Performer intake; originally had a Holley Street Avenger, but now has a 1411 Edelbrock carb. Engine was machined and rebuilt by Eddie's Valve Grinding in Jersey. Exhaust is stock Olds manifolds into true duals with Flowmaster 40's. Trans is a CK Performance 2004R with a shift kit and B&M lockup box, rear is the stock 7.5 with an Eaton posi and 3.42 gears. All poly bushings, Edelbrock IAS shocks, stock springs. Wheels are 15x8 Pontiac Snowflakes from an '80 T/A. It's not fancy, but it's part of my family; these days my husband and son get to enjoy it, too. 🙂
