Very excited to get my first car back from my parent who kept it for nearly 20 years! My dad must have know that I would want it again someday. He probably learned his lesson from selling is first car which was a 67 Nickey Chevelle. While my 85 Cutlass is a "little less" spectacular, it is my first car. It is fairly stock and look to keep it looking that way, but will likely swap the motor with pops at some point. I may use this car as a mean to get to my dream car, the 87 GN. Look forward to the forums.

Hello and welcome from Appleton Wisconsin. Where abouts are you?
The Cutlass looks to be in great shape for having been kept away for almost two decades. If/when you do get to the swap, will you being going Olds 350 or LS?

And I think you share the same dream car as many others on this board. Myself being one of them lol.

I am in Pleasant Prairie/Kenosha area. My choice would be to stick with an Olds 350. From what I know, the trick would be finding a good one. My dad who will be my co-pilot on this journey is pushing for a simple 350 crate. The 307 in it now is such a dog, so anything will be an upgrade. I don't plan on getting too crazy with it though.

The GN dream would definitely mean I have to let this one go, only have a stall for my toys!

There is a guy in Franklin who is liqudating all his stuff from completed projects, parts, to rebuilt posi 12 bolts, engines, engine cores, etc,,,, TONS of Oldsmobile A-body stuff. And lots of performance stuff too.
I know he has fresh rebuilt Olds 350s for sale too.
Not rushing you to do the swap or spend your $$$, but he may have some good deals as far as a 350 Olds goes.

Hello and also welcome from Wisconsin I'm in Fond du Lac. Thats a very clean car for being a Wisconsin car. I just bought my Cutlass a couple weeks ago and being on this forum has helped me a lot already. A lot of very knowledgeable and helpful people on here. I'm hoping that someday my cutlass will be as clean as yours. Probably going to be awhile.

You have a very heads up dad!! That's just really cool, 20 years is a long time. Did you know he was holding onto it?
In any case, glad it's here for you now.

Also from WI. from the Manitowoc area. Did a 81 Olds last fall and filled it with spare parts for the drag strip. I have a friend running it every week end at WIR in the street class. Very simple 350 SBC with the 3,75 crank and dished pistons and a mild Comp EX-270 cam. Been running mid 12s with a 109mph in the traps. I might have it for sale so I can finish my other project. Stop up at the track and talk its a silver with a black lower strip S-88 is the number on the window. Parked next to the full size GMC in the street pits.

He had plans for it but, like most people life got in the way. Only about a year ago we started to discuss its future. Good thing is he still has a 77 Camaro to play with!

Where is WIR? We have been a Great Lakes Drag family for years.

Greetings Guys; The new format doesn't seem show where we are from anymore? Anyway another cheese head here, Afton area (Janesville -Beloit). I walked around the Power Tour event last Saturday, bumbed that I didn't know they had an auto X! But I have already paid for the Car Craft Nat's & I'll be in the auto-X if all goes as planed. The new Global West lower arms are being installed as I type this. They were just too big of a job for a small LMG (late middle aged) guy. So YaV8 you also run mid 12's, join me in Milwaukee & challenge me on the auto -X?? It would be great fun, two similar cars that run similar times? Later I gota run, Bob Jr.
