Hi all. My name is Mike and I just recently picked up my second g body. It's an 83 Cutlass 3.8 I finally got all my cooling and ignition issues taken care of. So now I am having issues with oil smoke. The car sat for an undetermined length of time and only has 120k on the odometer. With amount of miles on the car I was wondering what you guys think. Either stuck or wornout rings? Thanks for any help or advice you all can give.

Welcome to the forum Mike!
For the most part, a vehicles mileage gives little value in determining the engine condition. Just look at a cab in NYC that has 50,000 mile on it. The motors are worn out. I would pull the spark plugs, label them with each cylinder....and they will give you a good idea of whats going on inside the engine. You can try using Marvel Mystery oil in your motor to free up the rings. But, its likely the problem with the engine is one reason that the car sat so long in the first place. Another idea is to use a compression tester on each cylinder, which will also tell you more about the internal engine condition.

Good Luck!

Bill
