Hi members. I'm a old man ( 64 ) who is new to forums, typing, and computers, but I've been into cars as a hobby most of my life. Now I'm ready to pull the body of my 80 el camino off it's frame to do a resto mod build. It's an original manual trans, no A/C, power brakes & steering. I would welcome any ideas you may come up with for my build. Later.

Hey welcome. Sounds like you could school us some.

As for possible mods. Search the S10 brake front (dual piston) rear brake (disc )conversion . Really helps in brake department

Hello (again) oldtinsmith 😉

Thanks for the welcome MR442, and thanks (again ) Doober. Yeah, I've been researching the ZQ8 brakes, etc. I'm going to have to my tools and welder and start dripping sweat. Later.

The Blazer 2-piston calipers/spindles are a good swap (spindles are bolt-in basically). Check out http://www.flynbye.com/, they have some sweet disc brake setups, but they get a little spendy.
