Hello. I recently bought my Uncle's 1987 El Camino (photo below). He was the original owner and I told him the day he bought it that if he ever decided to sell it, he should call me first. I never thought he would actually let go of it, so this is an unplanned, unexpected, and essentially unfunded (for now) project.

Back in the early 80's I owned a V6-powered 1978 Malibu Wagon, so I have some familiarity with G Bodies. Also previously owned a 1973 V8 Vega, 1976 Camaro that rotted out from under me, and 1988 C1500 pickup that was t-boned a couple years ago (it was almost historic.) Also had a 1971 Ford Torino and my current daily driver is a 2001 F150.

I have already mined a lot of very good, helpful technical information and valuable, insightful opinions from the G Body Forum archives. Now it's time to engage in dialog and maybe get to know some folks. Maybe even see some of you at shows.

That looks mint. It's nice that it stayed in the family.
Thanks, but to be honest she photographs MUCH better than she looks in person. Take a close look at the top of the front bumper, that's not reflections of the brown paint, that's rust (one of many details I'll have to attend to.) I am glad to be able to keep it in the family. Don't know why I feel that's important to me, but it is. 🙂
